Lisa is a graduate of La Sierra and Loma Linda Universities, where she earned an associate of arts degree in Human Services along with a bachelor's and master's degree in Social Work. She brings over 30 years of experience to the field, including 10 years in the California Public Child Welfare System, 11 years in private non-profit adoption services, and 11 years in academia, and currently serves as Director of Field Education for the School of Social Work at California State University, Sacramento.

Beyond her career and family, Lisa is passionate about speaking at Christian women's events, sharing how God's word has transformed her own heart and revealed His careful, intentional love for women. Since March 2024, she has served as Director of Women's Ministry for the Northern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, with a mission to reach women in every season of life — juggling family, church, work, and relationships, just as she does — with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her hope is that every woman would "take heart" in knowing she is fully known and fully loved by the One and Only True Living God.
